Europe offers more political entry points than America’s two-party national system. These panels follow parliamentary fragmentation, the sovereignty-oriented right, a US-platform attention shock, slogan migration, and national leverage inside the Union.

Across these six European chambers, the effective party count ranges from 3.44 in Spain to 9.23 in Belgium. The 2024 US House remains almost exactly a two-party chamber.
Calculation and sources
